It's happening.
The countdown is on.
One week since I finished work and one week until I fly 23 hours to Heathrow Airport and then a few more hours by coach from there.
I set myself these two weeks to pack and sort my life out. I am managing to gradually check things off my task list before I go. I thought it would be plenty of time but surprisingly things have been very frantic.
I'm grateful for it though. Things have been so frantic because I've been cramming at least one social hangout with friend/s almost every day since and including my last day at the hospital. Although I consider myself rather antisocial and awkward, I've somehow managed to amass a decent number of more-than-decent friends.
It's a pretty even mix of terror, anxiety and excitement at the moment. I'm trying to remain confident and positive so I don't isolate myself over there and slip down a slippery slope. It's just not my personality to be optimistic though. I'm more the type to think of every possible negative scenario but then strategise to avoid these situations from manifesting. In this situation there are just so many unknowns that I really can't predict what to prevent so... mild anxiety bubbling in the background.
You know what's a good distraction though? A holiday. After that, it'll be head down, bum up!
