So many sheep.

I'm on a plane listening to the UK top hits of 2000. Who Let the Dogs Out and Can We Fix it? Oh man. Then again, some of the music on the radio 16 years later is arguably worse. There's only 10 tracks on this playlist and a good 6 and a half hours left of this flight so I may have to move onto the top hits of 2001.

Yesterday, I rear ended one of those 4x4 ute things. I must have been going at a speed of around 65kmph when I snapped back to reality and slammed my brakes. I skidded into this lovely man's tow bar and Lil Blue crumpled up like tin foil. She cried radiator fluid and wheezed smoke. I couldn't open my drivers seat door to get out so I had to awkwardly slide across the hand brake etc and exit out the passenger side. The man and his partner (a nurse at Concord - we mental high fived at our sister hospital bond) were really lovely and helpful while I stood there like a useless trembly jelly potato hybrid.

Anyway, drama and insurance aside, nobody was hurt, thank God. Funny thing is that I'd just cleaned my car and it was looking so spic and span inside and I was budgeting to get a scrape on the side of my car repaired. No need for that if Lil Blue gets written off though.
What's also amusing in retrospect is that I had my empty suitcase in the boot because I had planned to pack to fly overseas the following day. It was quite convenient for clearing out everything inside my car including every single rilakkuma item on Earth and all the shoes I own somehow accumulated in my car.

I'm rather attached to that car. She's my first car, trusty little thing never let me down, except for those months where I couldn't be bothered changing the battery and she went flat and left me stranded at a number of places including El Jannah, Macquarie Centre and Stanmore 15 minutes walk from work.

[... Fast forward to 19/08/2016]

It's my brother's birthday today. He's turning 30 which I suppose is a big deal because like, he's officially a grown up and expected to make smart decisions now, right? He's always been pretty level headed but level headed in his own world. If you know him, you'd understand what I mean.

Anyhow, car was written off and I'm on the hunt for a new one. It's both crippling as well as refreshing to be without a car. I may have to wait ages for unreliable public transport or mooch lifts from friends and family but it does mean that I can do so much more people watching and reading. My mind feels calmer with this extra veg time.

Car shopping though. So not calming. I hate shopping even for clothes. I don't try things on, I just hope for the best. Maybe a third of the time it's a fail and I either have to return it, or I end up buying the clothes for a smaller friend . A car is a way bigger investment than red corduroy skinny pants (yes, I did it and recently too) so can you imagine my anxiety? I'm tempted to get a meh car I don't particularly like because I can't be bothered shopping around for more than one week.

Whatever.

So I went to Wales! It is soooooo beautiful 18000 kilometres away! I have minimal words. Breathtaking mountainside views and so so much green. Green is my favourite colour! The Welshman was a gracious host (ahem, his mum looked after me) and I'm thankful that he drove me around to see and do some pretty cool things. Having said that, I'm not sure that I ever want to go caverning again because personally, I prefer to be in control of my urinary function.

Sights and thrills aside, I am a happy girl. So this is what it feels like to really be in love. It ain't so bad, ya bloody dingbat!
