Colossal

Two weeks into Eurotrip 2015. I've seen and done so many iconic things that I never really believed I'd be able to. I think going to Europe was somewhat a fantasy because like, since when do I ever do cool things?

I can't be bothered going into great details about what's been going on over the past few days but I feel like I should so that if I forget about that time when I was young and traveled Europe, I can always look it up on my blog. Only if blogspot still exists when I'm 70 and the dementia is starting to set in, though.

Florence was pretty cool. Fake Michelangelo's David wasn't really that mind blowing if I have to be honest. Considering that the real one is exactly the same albeit a little more weather worn, I doubt that the 6 tonne marble dude would blow my mind either. Real David doesn't live far away and we stood in the queue for the academia museum to see him but the line stretched for what seemed like miles and barely budged so we left. I'm rather bummed out that I didn't get to go and see Galileo's telescope and assorted nerdy stuff. Apparently his fingers are also housed there. I missed out on seeing the fingers belonging to one of the world's greatest minds! I suppose taking a photo of his statue in the Piazza is a step up from eating in a Sydney restaurant called Galileo. I'll visit you next time, Galileo!

We took a little trip out to Tuscany to do a wine making tour followed by home made dinner and wine tasting. Super cute! I knew nothing about drinking wine let alone the process behind making it until last night. The guy whose family owns the vineyard is so knowledgable (and also good looking - some of the girls were swooning and asking how to propose marriage in Italian. Not my type though. Not socially awkward enough). I am so grateful that he was willing to so passionately share his craft with us.
As it turns out, once I drink beyond my happy sleepy state, everything suddenly becomes hilarious to me. Mel says that after the giggly stage comes emotional lability and tears. Fortunately for us all, last night was merely wine tasting.

Onto Rome. This is what I've been waiting for. I might cry.
