Next stop: Redfern station
The other night I saw some chick contouring her cleavage, touching up her (face) makeup and taking a bunch of selfies prior to exercising. A couple of things occurred to me. One, that I've become significantly more judgemental in the past couple of years and two, that body image insecurity plagues us all. I also wondered how stained that girl's clothes get from all the makeup. Then I started thinking about the clothes you see at the shops that have someone's face smeared off on th collar. Way off-putting. Somebody else's sebum, haha.
There's a girl sitting in front of me on the train this morning. Her phone screen is large enough for me to see that she's looking at bed heads and household appliances. I should make friends with her and we can complain together about how expensive it is to set up a new home.
I'm feeling rather worn out to the extent that a long weekend isn't enough to revive me. I fantasize (fantasise? There's no spell check on here) about taking a couple of weeks of annual leave and just doing whatever the heck I like. The idea of having to hand over and rebook patients puts me off ever taking any time off for the rest of my life* though.
It's okay. I just have to make time for leisure activities so I don't go stir crazy. I've still got a scarf I was knitting last winter and never cast off because I didn't know how and couldn't be bothered finding out. Says something about my personality really. Avoid any challenges. And then complain about how bored I am.
Not always.
